30-year-old woman to appear in court for allegedly burning her boyfriend and a female

"The investigation by police working with the prosecution will surely uncover the motive behind this merciless incident," stated the Vosman Police.

In a shocking turn of events, a 30-year-old woman is facing charges of double murder and arson following an incident that has sent shockwaves through the community of Hlalanikahle.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 16, when the woman allegedly set fire to a shack where two people were in.

The woman will appear before the Witbank Magistrate’s Court on today (Tuesday, July 18).

The victims, a 29-year-old male and a 27-year-old female, were tragically burnt to death inside the shack.

The bodies were found in an unrecognisable state by the police who were alerted to the incident by a councillor.

It was later revealed that the suspect was in a relationship with the male victim.

Upon presenting herself to the authorities, the suspect admitted to being responsible for the arson.

However, she claimed to be unaware of the victim’s presence inside the shack.

The motive behind this merciless act of violence is yet to be determined. “It is currently unknown what caused her anger which eventually made her to burn the shack hence the death of the victims. The investigation by police working with the prosecution, will surely uncover the motive behind this merciless incident,” said Vosman Police spokesperson, Captain Elizabeth Hlathi.
