Fathers urged to take their positions

Pastor Ignatius Mahlangu said to be a father is a calling and as fathers, they are concerned about teenage pregnancy and boys as young as 15 years becoming fathers.

The Emalahleni Men of Destiny under the leadership of Pastor Ignatius Mahlangu urged all fathers to take their positions to protect children from the pandemic called drugs and alcohol.

“It is not over; we still have those that are still growing. We must protect them, and they are more than those who are already addicted. Let’s focus on the good rather than the bad. As fathers, we have more than one responsibility and God gave us the authority and leadership of leading and protecting the things that belong to us, including our children. As we are caring the seed, that seed was blessed (Genesis 1:28). Let’s protect it,” said Pastor Mahlangu.

Pastor Mahlangu said that they formed the organisation to help men to discover the purpose of God in their lives, their roles, and responsibilities at home and in the community.

He said to be a father is a calling and as fathers, they are concerned about teenage pregnancy and boys as young as 15 years becoming fathers.

He urged fathers to take care of their children and not dump them.

“A child needs the love, attention, support and protection of a father, especially boys. If a father is not present in the life of their son, who is going to train, instruct and develop them into adulthood? As fathers, we must not shift the responsibilities to their mothers and other people. Many children are raised by mothers and grandparents, yet their fathers are still alive, and that is not good. A boy who is not raised properly, becomes dangerous in the future,” added Pastor Mahlangu.

Emalahleni Men of Destiny is also concerned about young boys and girls being addicted to drugs and alcohol, peer pressure, teenage pregnancy, divorce, and lack of parenting.

The Emalahleni Men of Destiny will be holding a workshop themed, ‘Community Development and Upliftment Project’.

The workshop will be held on Sunday, July 16 at the Christ Church in Phase 4 New Extension starting at 11:00. All are welcome.
