Vosman Police concerned over the circulation of illegal firearms

Vosman Police Captain Elizabeth Hlathi said the circulation of illegal firearms is a subject matter in the criminal acts committed.

Vosman Police are pleading with the community to help them put an end to acts of vicious armed robberies in the area.

 

This comes after three armed robberies in one day. 

 

According to reports the first robbery took place in Tshaka Street, Ackerville.

 

It is alleged that a 29-year-old victim was with his colleague on Monday, 19 June when they were allegedly accosted by two unknown men.

 

It is believed that one of the suspects threatened the victim with a firearm and demanded money whilst the other took their cellphones before they both fled the scene.

 

Vosman Police spokesperson Captain Elizabeth Hlathi expressed the growing concern the police have about the circulation of illegal firearms which are a subject matter in the criminal acts that are constantly committed.
