Criminals shoot for some smokes

It is unclear what else the robbers took apart from cigarettes.

A shop attendant had the shock of her life recently when robbers targeted the petrol station shop where she worked.

On June 11 while she was on duty at the station in Klarinet, a white Ford Ranger with no number plates stopped next to the kiosk window of the establishment.

Four men entered the shop wearing balaclavas and black jerseys.

The shopkeeper said that she immediately pressed the panic button.

One of the robbers instructed a security guard also at the shop to take a plastic bag and fill it with cigarettes.

The shop attendant was taken to a fridge where she was instructed to lie down.

According to the victim, soon after being placed in the refrigerator, she heard a loud bang sound of guns shots being fired.

Armed security was already on the scene when the robbers were fleeing.

The robbers proceeded to open gunfire at armed reaction officers before fleeing the scene.

No casualties have been reported and investigations are still ongoing.
