Triple murders reported in eMalahleni

Witbank Police Captain Eddie Hall urged members of the public to refrain from using violence to resolve conflict.

Three people were killed in the past week in eMalahleni.

Two of the murders took place at MNS informal settlement and the other was reported in Old Coronation.

When police arrived on the scene in Old Coronation on Saturday, June 17, they found a man with multiple stab wounds, his clothes covered in blood.

There were a group of people on the scene, however, no one from the group of people knew the victim.

Two more murders were reported at the MNS informal settlement.

One victim was allegedly stabbed to death with a knife whilst the other was reportedly found dead by community members.

According to the report, two police members were on duty when they received a complaint of a dead person that was lying in the MNS bushes.

The body was discovered on Wednesday, June 14 by community members who were busy cutting wood.

Near the body of the deceased male victim, it is alleged a knife covered in blood stains was also discovered.

According to the report, the deceased had multiple stab wounds on his body.

The second murder at the MNS informal settlement took place on Thursday, June 15.

According to the report, police found the body of a deceased male victim who was allegedly assaulted to death by an unknown male suspect.

At around 04:20 relevant role players attended the scene and supposedly informed the police that the suspect had fled the scene.

Witbank Police Captain Eddie Hall said members of the public are requested not to use violence as a method to resolve their conflicts with fellow citizens.

“The SAPS and judicial systems are in place to assist members of the public in this regard,” Captain emphasised.
