Shooting competition firing on Youth Day

The competition is taking place at Witbank Practical Shooting Club Range (behind old Dunn’s Loco Works).

The Memorable Order of Tin Hats Ratel Shellhole (MOTHS) is hosting its annual team shoot competition.

As usual, this will happen on Youth Day, June 16.

Ratel Shellhole, in conjunction with Witbank Practical Shooting Club, is organising this event to help raise funds for the elderly in the Moth Cottages.

Teams can be formed from any combination of sex or age over 12 years old.

Family, friends, clubs, work, and school groups are welcome.

Strict safety requirements will be enforced.

“Come and enjoy a day on the shooting range, firing different types of weapons,” Moth Dion Slabbert invited.

The day starts at 08:30 for 09:00. Entrance fee is R800 per team of four shooters.

Weapons and ammo can be provided or you can use your own.

The different events are:

  • .22 Gongs: five rounds, gongs.
  • Handgun Deliberate shoot: SADPA target six rounds and one minute for six shots, the highest score wins.
  • Shotgun challenge: Five falling plates (five rounds). The fastest time wins.
