Two business owners shot by robbers during four business robberies in four days

One business owner has been shot multiple times and was assaulted by six robbers.

Four business robberies have occurred in four days and one shopkeeper has been robbed while on duty.

Criminals appear to be very comfortable and have no hesitations when targeting a business.

In the first instance, a case of attempted murder has been opened when a business owner has finished his day of trading after closing his shop.

He was on his way to his vehicle when he was approached by two unknown males.

One of the alleged criminals demanded money from the shop owner while pointing a firearm at the victim. The victim told the criminals that he does not have any money in his possession when the firearm went off.

The bullet shot by the perpetrator hit the shop owner in the right thigh. According to reports, the alleged robbers left the scene in a white Golf and without any valuables.

Armed reaction found the victim on the floor and notified the police. The victim is recovering from his injuries.

The second instance took place on May 19 at a local fruit and vegetable wholesaler who was gunned down on his business premises.

According to reports, the car of the victim’s wife was parked inside the business premises when she heard gunshots go off.

Upon looking around to try and find the source of the shots fired, she saw her husband being shot and assaulted by six suspects.

According to the victim, one of the alleged robbers climbed into the back of her vehicle and took her handbag and items worth R8 500.

The victim’s husband has been taken to hospital and was later airlifted to Milner Park Hospital. He is currently in recovery.

In the third instance, a shopkeeper on duty found herself in the middle of a nightmare on May 23, when three unknown males entered the shop wearing face masks.

According to reports, the three men were stopped at the entrance of the clothing shop when they were told they can not enter the shop wearing face masks.

Allegedly, one of the robbers had a black firearm in his possession and pointed the firearm at staff and patrons. The robber ordered everyone in the shop to remain still and was warned against using any cellphones.

The staff of the shop was ordered to open three tills where the robbers allegedly took the money. The robbers then turned to the safe and also took all the items and cash inside.

Upon leaving the clothing store, one of the criminals shot one shot and fled on foot.

The robbers had security and staff locked in the cash room when the shot was fired.

Luckily no one was hurt in the robbery. The suspects are still at large.

Another unlucky shop attendant was on duty on May 25 at a petrol station when she decided to take a bathroom break.

When she was inside the bathroom, two unknown males entered the toilet area and demanded that the cashier empty her pockets and hand over everything she has on her person.

Before locking her in the bathroom, the two alleged robbers took her cellphone, cash, and bank card.

Robbers also targeted another petrol station when two unknown males robbed the garage on May 23.

According to reports, one shop attendee noticed two males entering the shop and one of them carried a nine-kilogram gas cylinder.

Another shop attendant then took the cylinder when one of the alleged robbers followed him and another stayed behind.

Reports stated that the robber then told the shopkeeper that they are going to rob the establishment. One of the robbers took out a firearm and pointed it at the victims.

Luckily no one has been hurt during the robbery and the robbers took a gas appliance and fled the shop. According to the shopkeepers, three men were seen fleeing the scene.

Suspects are still on the run and investigations are underway.
