Two suspects nabbed for possession of illegal firearms near Siyanqoba

The occupants of the vehicle could not produce any valid licences for the rifles.

The law caught up with two suspects recently in Siyangoba when Witbank South-African Police Service (SAPS) visible policing members on patrol, spotted a suspicious vehicle driving past them without any number plates.

 

The vehicle was stopped and police found six firearms and 136 rounds of ammunition. The men failed to produce the necessary licenses. 

 

The suspects aged 32 and 46 years were arrested for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

 

They are due to appear before Witbank Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (May 31).
