Collab Initiatives releases “Enhlizweni Yami” new single

Collab Initiatives is hard at work on their debut album, having just released their first new track.

In an industry that often prioritizes secular music, a new gospel group has emerged, bringing their message of hope and faith to the forefront.

Maluee Mahlangu, Nkosinathi Nxumalo, and Thulani Nyathi, along with 20 other members, created the group ‘Collab Initiatives’ in 2022. They seek to impact the eMalahleni community by giving a powerful message of comfort and reassurance written from a place of trust and confidence in God’s protection and guidance, particularly in the face of tragedy.

Their passion for music and spreading the word of God led them to pursue a career in gospel music, and after a year of hard work and dedication, they finally released their first song.

Entitled “Enhlizweni Yami,” the song showcases the group’s powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics and is a testimony to the group’s unwavering faith and desire to inspire others.

Lead singer Maluee Mahlangu spoke about the inspiration behind the album, saying, “We wanted to create music that would inspire people to rise and overcome any challenges they may face. We hope that our music will bring joy and hope to those who listen to it.”

“Enhlizweni Yami” ‒ this song essentially centres on the theme of trusting in God during times of trouble and distress. The phrase “Lapho kubhodla izitha” literally means “when we sit down amidst troubles,” suggesting a state of difficulty or hardship. The chorus in particular repeats the idea of holding on to God’s hand and remembering his protection and guidance during difficult times,” he explained.

The group’s debut album has already received praise from critics and fans alike, with many praising the group’s powerful vocals and the songs’ uplifting message.

“The second verse switches to a plea for peace in the singer’s heart with the help of Jesus, with the line “Umoya obhudluzayo, kuthule kuthi nya,” meaning “the troubled spirit should quiet down, finding peace.” The third and final verse expresses the singer’s trust in Jesus to look after him and guide him through challenges,” he said.

With their debut album now released, the group ‘Collab Initiatives’ is looking forward to touring and sharing their music with audiences around the world.

“We will drop another one as we are working on others for our debut album. The song is currently available on all the online media platforms (Spotify, iTunes, YouTube, and Deezer).”
