Soccer ‘brothers’ make a difference in Ga-Nala
Kriel Masters FC is passionate about soccer and also their community.
Kriel Masters Football Club is more than a sports club.
This group of soccer players who is passionate about the sport and their community is dribbling good deeds around the Highveld town nestled between two power giants, Matla and Kriel Power Stations.
On Thursday, April 27, the amateur soccer club hosted a Top-4-Soccer tournament in Ga-Nala.
This was part of an initiative of raising sanitary towels for local schools, under the theme ‘Restore a girl child’s dignity sanitary pad drive’.
“The event was a huge success said,” said Bheki Sibiya from Kriel Masters FC.
The team on a previous occasion participated in a sanitary pads drive in partnership with Miss Seraphic Mpumalanga, Ondela Zazayokwe.
Playing soccer is expensive when you do not have sponsors, and Bheki said they pay for all their expenses out of their own pockets.
“The reward at the end of the day is seeing the smiles we manage to put on people’s faces as we flick headers, full volley, and strike goodwill in our community,” Bheki concluded.
