First-ever athletics day hosted by Ilanga Private Academy

The first three places in the 100 m, 200 m sprint and relay events received a medal.

Athletes from three local private schools participated in an athletics day to show their running skills.

The day was hosted by Ilanga Private Academy at Witbank High School on Friday, April 21.

Athletes from Ilanga, Witbank Christian Academy and St Andrews Academy participated in 100 m, 200 m sprint and relay events and winners in the first three places each received a medal.

“This was our first-ever athletics day and we aim to also have netball and mini-rugby days soon,” said Annelien van der Schyf from Ilanga.

She also invited parents who are interested in registering their children for next year to do so, as registration is now open for 2024.
