Local writer Nosipho hard at work on her second book

“I truly believe that God has placed in me the desire to write so that I can share His glory with people and how He can take you from nowhere or from nothing to somewhere and do something." And he hasn't stopped bothering me since; he didn't let up until I finished the book, and more books are on the way,” Nosipho explained.

Now, just a year later, Nosipho Bodlingwe is hard at work on her second book.

Last year, the literary world was introduced to a fresh new voice when writer Nosipho published her debut book, ‘In You.’ The book was an instant success, garnering critical acclaim and a loyal following of readers.

Discovering further about Nosipho (47): A God-fearing and intelligent woman from eMalahleni with a Master’s Degree in Engineering (Power and Energy), a B-Tech, a Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and a certificate in Logotherapy.

Nosipho states that she never considered herself a writer since she preferred to read.

“I grew up reading a lot of books. I could say that at the time, I was more interested in reading than in writing. I was also not exposed to people creating their own works, so I assumed authors were some fictional characters who lived somewhere no one knew,” she said.

Nosipho discovered her love for writing back at university, “I started having the desire to write when I was doing my first year at tertiary in 1997. Someone gifted me with a diary and that’s when I started penning down my journey and my thoughts daily. Unfortunately, I lost that diary and I never write again, but the desire to write never left me since then,” she explained.

She stated that her life narrative and journey inspired her to write.

When Nosipho published her book, she intended to help people understand that their success is their duty and that God has given them all the skills they need to succeed in life, regardless of the obstacles.

“I believe I have a compelling story that can help people take charge of their lives and unstuck them from the bondage of waiting for the Messiah to change their lives. We live in a season, and we have been in this season for quite some time now, and I felt I had a story that could help a lot of people break through this painful season of victim mentality, negative mindset, and entitlement mentality,” she explained.

If you haven’t got a copy of ‘In You,’ here are some highlights: “Throughout the book, readers will be able to link the title to the content of the book in that, as I share my story, they will notice that I took charge of my life with God’s help. I didn’t dwell much on who was there or who was supporting or not supporting me, nor was I focused on my circumstances or what happened to me. Readers will notice that I have come across most, if not all of the challenges that are often cited as reasons for people not to succeed in life. Things I’ve done or overcome from an early age to date can only attest to the goodness of God,” she said.

You should keep in mind that the book is just one of many, so expect more from Nosipho while she works on her second book.

This is from the lovely Nosipho to everyone out there, “Reading ‘In You’ will inspire you to renew your mind, shift your mindset, and take action. It will encourage readers to quit feeling sorry for themselves and to realize that God is a provision for every dream. Their trust in God will be restored,” she concluded.
