On April 10, near Clewer, the thieves began their spree with the hijacking of a bakery truck during the day.

When the complainant was driving down Boundary Street after finishing a delivery, it is alleged that a Volkswagen Polo suddenly blocked the road.

The complainant attempted to swerve so that he could use the other lane.

Then five suspects, two of whom were armed, descended from the Polo and demanded the victim to exit the vehicle.

The driver was allegedly forced into the middle of the truck by two of the suspects, who then took control of the vehicle.

When the truck came to a stop at some bushes, the suspects got away with an undetermined amount of cash.

Drivers are cautioned that the continued hijackings is cause for great concern and that on Tuesday, April 11, suspects fled with a Toyota Quantum, cellphones and an undisclosed sum of cash.

According to the reports, three armed suspects attacked the complainant at about 20:50 at his Empumelelweni residence.

The complainant is believed to have been about to close a gate when he saw people pointing guns at him at the time of the event. When he attempted to flee, they seized him, shoved him inside the vehicle, and took off with him.

The suspects took a path toward Delmas after dropping him off close to the Kendal Power Station.

These criminals have no mercy and make sure to steal everything before fleeing.

It is alleged that a Volkswagen Golf passed the complainant’s red Hyundai Venue and halted in front of it, impeding her ability to go.

Two unidentified individuals exited the aforementioned golf cart, one of them carrying a gun. One suspect was with her in the back seat while the other drove the vehicle after the suspects forced their way inside.

They drove for some time before dumping her.

Last week, it was another day, another hijacking in the city, and a complainant in Ackerville fell prey to two suspects on Thursday, April 13.

After spending 15 minutes in the internet café, it is alleged that the complainant was suddenly hijacked by two armed suspects when he was making his way home.

One of the suspects is believed to have entered the driver’s door, demanded the keys, and threatened the driver with a gun.

The other suspect was in the back of the vehicle when he was forcibly removed from it.

His car, undeclared amount of cash, his license, bank cards, and an identity paper are all said to have been taken by the suspects as they fled.

As the investigation continues, motorists are being urged to take extra precautions when travelling in the area to ensure their safety and the safety of their vehicles.

A further incident occurred on Friday, April 14 at around 19:30 in KwaGuqa when the complainant was asked to install a refrigerator in Extension 14.

It is alleged that when he arrived, he discovered two suspects.

Suddenly, one of them opened the door and pointed a gun at the complainant. He then demanded money.

The suspects entered the car, with one of them driving, and telling the complainant and his buddy to exit the vehicle.

They then took off in the car with the groceries and other items inside.

On Saturday, April 15, in broad daylight at the Kromdraai off-ramp, a hijacking was last noted.

Two suspects allegedly asked the complainant to assist them with vehicles so they could pick up the steel at Highveld Steel while he was in the hardware store.

The complainant was driving on the N4 when one of the suspects applied the brakes, stopping the car as they approached the Kromdraai off-ramp.

The suspects attempted to tie up the complainant with a rope, but were unable to do so before overwhelming the complainant and taking off with the car.

The police have launched an investigation into the incidents and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

They have also advised motorists to be aware of their surroundings and to avoid driving alone at night or in isolated areas.

The spokesperson for the Vosman Police Station, Captain Vusi Mnisi, said, “As the police in Vosman, we are quite concerned about the way crime is increasing, especially with the hijackings. Good Samaritans are typically most prone to being hijacked; therefore, they must always be alert and cautious.”
