Bakkie and truck crash between Costas and Transalloys on Clewer road

One dead in collision on Clewer road.

A collision this morning claimed the life of the driver of a bakkie. 

 

The accident happened between Costas and Transalloys on the R547 (Clewer road) this morning (April 5).

 

The first to arrive on the scene was Mr Alex Grobler from Emalahleni Towing Services.

 

“Two men were travelling in a bakkie and there was just the driver in the coal truck without a load. The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries. All emergency personnel were quick to arrive on the scene,” Mr Grobler confirmed. 

The truck driver did not sustain any injuries in an accident that lead to one fatality.

It is alleged by the truck driver that the driver of the bakkie had attempted to make a U-turn when he crashed into the bakkie. 

 

The passenger was trapped inside the bakkie and is reportedly in critical condition.

 

The road is currently open for motorists to use.
