Uthingo Park residents have to make their own plans to get rid of garbage

With rubbish bags scattered over the streets of Udinga Indoda, locals are pleading for assistance.

Residents in Uthingo Park have had it with the uncollected garbage problems that have been keeping them on their toes.

Uncollected garbage is an increasing problem in the Udinga Indoda section of Uthingo Park leaving residents feeling frustrated and overwhelmed.

With piles of trash piling up on the streets and in parks, it’s not just an eyesore, but a health hazard.

Black garbage bags pile up on the streets of Udinga Indoda.

Residents must dig deep into their pockets to remove the garbage, or they must do it on their own.

A resident said the problem of uncollected garbage needs to be addressed urgently, as it can lead to public health issues such as the spread of diseases and pollution.

It is also a major source of frustration for residents, who have no choice but to put up with the mess every day.

“It’s time for local authorities to take action and find a way to ensure that all garbage is collected promptly,” she added.

Residents have complained about the uncollected trash for months, and some of the residents in the area banded together to clean up, but they are still in need of assistance.

“We are staying with the rubbish because we are not as fortunate as other people in other sections who have money to pay for the rubbish to be collected, or we must clean up on our own, as we did on March 1 and 2, but we need help with a vehicle to transport the rubbish to the dumping site as black bags have piled up in the streets,” added a resident.

Aaron Khumalo, a PR councillor for the Democratic Alliance, confirmed that the area has a problem with uncollected rubbish, particularly on the Udinga Indoda side, and that they are now planning to go and assist members in cleaning up the area because rubbish is hazardous to their health.

Mr Dumisani Mathaba, a ward councillor, confirmed that he is aware of the problem of uncollected rubbish in the area, among other things, but he referred the matter to the mayoral office.
