Half of Emalahleni will be without electricity and water tomorrow.

There will be an emergency planned power outage at Doornpoort Substation.

This is happening on Sunday, March 19 from 08:00 until 18:00. The electrical department will be performing emergency maintenance.

The following areas supplied by Doornpoort Substation will be affected.

“Unfortunately the power supply to all reservoirs as well as the water treatment plant and the package plants will be affected due to the outage,” said Mr Lebo Mofokeng, municipal spokesperson.

He said several areas may experience low water pressure to no water supply due to the outage.

“Once the power supply has been restored pumping will commence however it should be noted that it will take time to fully pressurise the network and for the water to reach all households.”

All affected households and businesses are requested to make the necessary arrangements to endure this inconvenience.

Consumers are kindly requested not to utilise water from their geysers during periods of no water, as this may cause problems once the water supply is restored.
