Rural Economic Transformers protest action continues

The Rural Economic Transformers (RET) protest is continuing at Saveways Cresent Centre.

Protestors gathered yet again at the centre in the early morning of March 16. The protesters closed the entrance and exits and no vehicles were able to enter the premises.

The Department of Mineral Resources whose office is situated in the centre indicated that they will engage with the protestors today.

The manager of Saveways Cresent Centre, Raseen Mohamed said that the protestors have been contained to one area of the centre and gates have been opened for trading.

Police are on the scene to monitor the situation.
