The newly crowned Miss Inspire SA 2023 is eager to make a difference in her community

Vanessa is no stranger to success. She has been making waves in the pageant industry since she won her first crown. She has now added another title to her collection of accomplishments.

Vanessa Pitsi (23) has done it once more. With her distinctive style and flare, she has won another title.

On Friday, February 3, Vanessa was crowned Miss Inspire SA at a ceremony held at the Lakeside Mall in Benoni.

“Winning the title means living my wildest dream of the young girl I was a few years ago. It shows me that anything is possible, that God is able, and that He has plans for us,” she said.

From her success in beauty pageants to her latest accomplishment, Vanessa is an example of what can be achieved through passion and perseverance.

“What inspired me to join pageantry, were my passion and my advocacy for social development and education. Because of poverty and a lack of knowledge, I grew up in a community where teen pregnancy, school dropouts, and substance abuse are permanent. I wanted the young boys and girls from disadvantaged backgrounds to use me as a mirror to believe that their dreams are valid and that it doesn’t matter where they come from, as long as they know where they are going,” she said.

She has competed in numerous pageants, including Miss New Royal Elegant, where she was crowned first princess, Miss TUT 2020/21, Face of eMalahleni, where she was crowned first princess and Miss Photogenic, and later in the year, she was crowned as their ambassador, Miss Mpumalanga 2021 top 30, and Miss Sundowns provincial in the top 9.

“I wanted to use pageantry as a voice. The most interesting part of pageantry is that it provides the platform for you to embrace yourself, your potential, and your philosophy without being suppressed, as well as a platform for you to outgrow yourself and affect twice as many people as you can. Pageantry focuses one’s attention and teaches one to live with honesty and respect.”

She is an inspiration to many young women who aspire to be like her, and she continues to show that everything is possible with hard work and persistence.

“I would encourage students to participate in such activities because we learn a lot about the social issues that surround us, it enhances our confidence and self-esteem, and it allows us to make a positive difference in society; it is not about beauty.”

She is also a bright young lady who has a Human Resource Management degree from the Tshwane University of Technology in eMalahleni and is pursuing an honours degree in Human Resources Management.

Her journey has been inspiring for so many, and we can’t wait to see what she does next!

“I wish to empower or improve the lives of the next generation through social development by participating in pageantry and serving as a voice and role model for individuals from impoverished backgrounds. I want to encourage people of all backgrounds to take up space since I grew up in a community where I was surrounded by people I don’t want to look up to instead of role models. I had a tough time breaking the circle of school dropouts and teen pregnancies and ensuring that the next generation has someone to look up to, but I am delighted that I am paving the road for them,” she added.

Vanessa is presently focusing on extra lessons, collecting and distributing study materials, and encouraging young boys and girls to continue their education.

“What I want people to understand is that everything is an achievement, and the Lord will always align you with what is rightfully yours,” she concluded.
