Victim runs for his life during hijacking attempt

The investigation is currently underway and the suspects are still at large.

An unsuspecting victim was on his way home in Klipfontein whilst driving his company vehicle.

In the late evening hours on January 25, the victim was on his way home, driving alone.

Once the victim reached his address, he got out of his vehicle and opened the gate.

Upon opening the gate, two unknown males approached the unsuspecting victim.

One of the robbers had a firearm.

They then demanded that the victim get back into his vehicle.

The victim then ran away out of fear and hid.

Upon returning to his home, the assailants fled with the white Toyota Hilux bakkie.

Luckily, no one was injured and a case of carjacking was opened at Witbank Police Station.

The investigation is currently underway and the suspects are still at large.

The police urge residents who find themselves in a robbery or hijacking situation to always remain calm.

Never be a hero and always follow the assailants’ instructions.

Take note of what they are wearing and what language they are communicating in.

Also, listen for names or any other details that can assist the police in their investigation.
