Murder and attempted murder cases reported

According to reports, the male victim has been thrown with stones and bricks.

The festive season is behind us, but even the spirit of Christmas has not deterred crime from happening.

In two recent incidents, cases of attempted murder and murder were opened at Witbank Police Station.

In the first incident, on January 1, in the early morning hours, Witbank police received a complaint of an unknown man found beaten to death in Vulture Street, Spring Valley.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police found an unknown male in the street covered in blood.

According to reports, the male victim has been thrown with stones and bricks.

Emergency services declared the Mozambican citizen dead on the scene.

Investigations are still ongoing.

In another incident, a resident was at home in Klarinet Extension 6 when he heard a loud noise coming from outside his house.

Upon inspecting what could have caused the noise, the complainant saw that a window of his home was shot at, as the bullet hole was visible.

Whilst inspecting his garage, he was suddenly shot at by an unknown robber in his right shoulder.

The victim ran into the house and immediately phoned the South African Police Service 10111 hotline.

The alleged robber managed to get the victim’s laptop and fled the scene.

A case of attempted murder has been opened, and the investigation is still ongoing.
