Ntombi showing love and support during Christmas

This holiday season, a good Samaritan came through for the needy.

Ntombi Ngobese known as Catwoman, Mrs Mpumalanga 2021 continues to show love and support for the community.

She started doing charity on a small scale, whereby she purchases groceries which she donated to orphanages.

This Christmas again she played Santa and give out gifts to the community of eMalahleni.

Through donations from people, Mpumalanga GTI Crew and family finance, she managed to raise 25 x 25 L Christmas Hamper buckets to give away to the community of eMalahleni in an Empumelelweni.

The hampers were distributed to old people – grandmothers and grandfathers.

“The reason I chose grandparents is that my grandparents were always good to all their grandchildren. They always sacrifice things to give us the comfort that we need. I know what grandparents have, is shared with everyone in the family. So, giving to the grandparents is like giving to the whole family,” said Ntombi.

Ntombi said competing in the Mrs Mpumalanga contest has made her learn the skills required to panhandle for the benefit of the community. Before being crowned, she could donate from her pocket only.

However, after winning the crown, she was able to give on a much greater scale by combining her own contribution with donations and sponsorships from people and organisations.

She has been involved in a variety of philanthropic endeavours, including distributing Christmas hampers on an annual basis, organising a blanket drive during the winter months, fighting against gender-based violence, motivating people, donating clothes and shoes and offering career advice.

She added to say that requesting donations is not an easy thing to do, but patience is required to complete all of these tasks.

“The reason for sharing this information is not to brag about giving, but to encourage people to reach out to the community and help the nation. It is not easy to wake up in the morning and look for the community to reach out but if there are opportunities where one can donate to help an individual, you can do so. There is power in giving and the hand that gives, never run empty. I would like to acknowledge all the people who donated especially my husband Kennedy Ngobese for his support. Lastly, I would like to acknowledge Pastor Ngomane and his team for collecting all the people and putting them in one place to make the distribution of the hampers easy,” concluded Ntombi.
