Kriel was in high spirits for sports day

Regional Manager for the Ganala Municipality, Mduduzi Mngomezulu said that the day is to celebrate the youth through sports.

Five wards in Ga-Nala have been invited to the Ganala sports day ‒ netball, soccer, and athletics were the main events.

The day aimed to unite Ganala through sports. Community Development Superintendent for Seriti, Reneilwe Mphela, said that it was not the first time the company has worked on a project in collaboration with the municipality.

Noluthando Ngwenya, Polite Sithole, Lindokuhle Thwala and Asiphe Vanto from the Black Eagles Netbal team.

“Wards 22, 25, 32, and 37 have selected teams from these wards to take part in competing to become the team that will represent the district. We had a fun run with the elderly. It is to bring everyone together and is part of our CSI scheme (corporate social investment),” said Mphela.

“We decided from the Ganala region that it is November now and 60 days against violence against women and children are around the corner, but we need to show that symbolically we all can co-exist through sports. Today we have netball and soccer and these teams get to know each other regardless of their social economic status. We are brothers and sisters and we all are family in one way or another. Let’s show through sports that we are there for one another and protect each other and that we are one,” concluded Mduduzi.
