Robbers get away with valuables after Highveld Park robbery

Robbers decide to rob family home at the dead of night.

Home is where you should feel safe and secure. It should be considered your haven.

For one unlucky family in Highveld Park, that feeling is gone.

According to one victim, everything was locked and closed up for the evening of November 8.  So it is still unclear where and how the assailants got in.

It was at 02:00 when the woman had an unnerving feeling that somebody not invited was in the house. The victim saw two unknown males all dressed in black inside the home.

A man grabbed her and instructed her to be quiet. According to reports, she then started screaming, ignoring the assailant’s command.

The suspect got a hold of a blanket and tried to strangle the screaming victim.

In the hustle and commotion, the other man allegedly took her and a family member’s phones, laptop, charger, wallets, and handbag.

Luckily for the victim, the family member came running to her aid whilst being strangled, and the suspects ran off with their personal belongings.

No one was seriously injured.

A case of armed robbery was opened at the Witbank Police Station.
