Witbank Citylads passionately beat Passion FC 3-0

Citylads had all their guns ready.

Witbank Citylads after playing three games without a win finally managed to beat Passion in their fourth match.

They had previously been beaten by Sivutsa 2-0 and Kanyamazane All Stars with the same score margin and played a 1-1 draw with Witbank Shepard.

In their game against Passion, Citylads had all their guns ready and well-prepared for the encounter.

They started slowly and built up as the game progressed. The ABC Mostepe League A stream match was played at Lynnville Stadium on Saturday, October 22.

Their forward Nkosehle Sangweni nearly opened after his mates created a chance for him, but the ball was cleared.

Sangweni together with Hlubi Sipha connected well upfront. Passion September Mashiloane had his shot blocked for a corner kick, while on the other side Citylads Ndaba Mxolisi had his place kick sailing over the crossbar.

In defence, Passion Tebogo Mothoa prevented a sure goal when he came just in time to clear a shot. Passion forward Mduduzi Nyadeni nearly scored, but Citylads goalkeeper Kabelo Mmaphaka came in time to save.

Citylads firing line of Sangweni, Hlubi and Mxolisi Ndaba played well to keep Passion defence busy.

Citylads in one of their break attacks nearly scored, but the ball just sailed out. Citylads pressed hard, looking for the opening goal, but it never came.

Passion Mashiloane was yellow-carded for rough play. The teams break for half time at 0-0.

In the second stanza, Citylads with new ideas forced Passion to defend and in one of their attacks they had a shot saved while Passion forward Silindile Mokhethi failed to put the ball into the net. City Sangweni was set free and scored after beating the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

City made some substitutes, and they affected the match as they scored their second goal and were in control of the match.

Passion tried their best, but their best was not enough as City kept on piling up pressure.

Passion Mothoa nearly scored after a corner kick. Citylads had two corner kicks in a short period as they continued to put pressure.

Citylads had a quick place tick taken and a cross from the side and bang into the net to make it 3-0.

Citylads will play their next game and away game against Middelburg United on Saturday, October 29.
