Keith Reynolds completes 62.7 kilometres in six hours

Amid the sunny weather conditions, Coaldust Road Runners were persistent in completing their race.

The race was a 1 km circuit race where the runners ran around a 1 km circuit for as long as they could.

Clock the Kilometres hosted by Coaldust Road Runners took place on Saturday, October 8 at the Elkana Educational Centre.

Contestants could enter for two hours, four hours, six hours, eight hours or 10 hours.

Lesley Vermeulen, Public Relations Officer for Coaldust outlined the details of the race, “The day was very successful. We had athletes from Boksburg, Centurion, Germiston, Edenvale and Middelburg.”

Malefetzane Ramalebo from Germiston, who completed 49.5 km in eight-hours.

Lesley further explained how the sunny weather conditions affected the runners and how they assisted them. “The temperatures midday went into the 30s, which made running difficult, but the well-supplied water point made things a bit easier for the tough ones braving the heat.”

The person with the most kilometres completed in 6 hours was Keith Reynolds from Irene, who completed 62.7 kilometres in six hours.

The athlete that ran the longest time of eight-hour was Malefetzane Ramalebo from Germiston, who completed 49.5 km in eight hours in tremendous heat.
