Families having fun during a fun day
Family came in numbers to enjoy the fun day hosted by the Witbank High School.
Parents, together with their children, enjoyed themselves during a family fun day.
The family fun day was organised by the School of Excellence (SOE) together with Care West Foundation and was held on Saturday, October 1 at Witbank High School.
The day was set to bring families together on a soccer field so that partners and children could experience how their fathers spend their time on the soccer field during match days, hence the fun day.
“We want to enjoy as families and those families would come together to know each other because we belong to one big happy family of SOE,” said Wandile Ndlovu.
The day started with indigenous games, followed by jumping castles, board games, tug of war, slides, soccer, and other games for both children and adults.
Care West Foundation was part of the fun day activities because the foundation has similar activities to SOE in that they give to the needy.
They partnered in the past helping to donate school uniforms, school shoes, food parcels, building homes, and organising lunches for the disabled and many other activities.
During a friendly match, SOE had two teams facing each other and was coached by ladies to make it more fun.
In the first half, both Team A and Team B had a well-balanced first half.
Team A scored a goal and lead until the end of the first half.
In the second half, Team B put more pressure on Team A trying to find an equaliser, but Team A was stronger at the back.
A shot by a Team B player sailed over the crossbar in one of their attempts.
A Team A player was set for a good pass after a good run and scored a second goal to make it 2-0 and again scored the third one for Team A.
Leading Team A started to relax and Team B put more pressure and scored a goal to make it 3-1 and place-kick after a good pass to make it 3-2 and one of the players scored to make it 4-2, the final score between the two teams in the friendly game.
The game was well entertaining and showed the depth of the squad in the social team.
The team plans to have more such fun family days in the future.
