Miss Pre-Teen eMalahleni Finalist gives back to the community

Nontokozo is asking for support on her Miss Pre-Teen eMalahleni journey.

Young, brilliant and dedicated sixth grader paves her way in modelling as she sets her eyes on the Miss Pre-Teen eMalahleni.

Nontokozo Skosana, 12 years old, started modelling last year August, even though her love for it began at the tender age of nine.

Her mother did not take it seriously as she insisted Nontokozo should focus on her school work. “Last year she would talk about modelling every day, that’s when I stood up and got her an agent at Khayalami Modelling Agency,” her mother, Annie Skosana said.

Nontokozo addressing teens as a guest speaker on June 16.

Nontokozo won the junior Queen of Khayalami Modelling Agency in October last year.

She then won the first Princess of Shining Diamonds Modelling Agency that paved her path forward as she is now a Miss Pre-Teen eMalahleni 2022 finalist.

However, just modelling was no longer enough for the young Nontokozo who started participating in local community cleaning events around eMalahleni.

She assisted in a cleaning campaign at Downtown Park, Ward 1 and Izodela Arts and Culture Centre.

That’s not all; the young finalist also donated school shoes and sanitary towels at Johannes Kanada Primary School on August 12 in honour of Women’s month.

“No learner will miss school because he/she doesn’t have school shoes, neither will my fellow girl child bunk or be prevented from coming to school due to the lack of sanitary towels,” said Nontokozo.

The multi-talented finalist hosted an event on June 16 where she invited guest speakers to address teens and pre-teens about all the common challenges they face as young people.

The event was a huge success. In July, Nontokozo as part of her 67 minutes on Mandela Day donated clothes, blankets and sanitary pads at Ethembeni Children’s Haven.

This sixth grader is a helpful and dedicated child.

She is now captain in her class and amongst the top ten performers in her class.
