Out with the rubbish, in with good attitudes towards the city

Everyone is taking part in the clean-up campaign.

The Executive Mayor Clr Connie Nkalitshana was again on the ground leading by example when she led a team of municipal officials, EPWP and community volunteers in cleaning some areas of KwaGuqa.

This comes after the two days of mini-civil unrest that occurred over the past few days.

The executive mayor express her deep sense of appreciation on behalf of the entire community of eMalahleni to all the volunteers who took it upon themselves to clean the township after some protesters decided to blockade the streets with tyres, stones and rubble making it difficult for people to access emergency services such as ambulance services, fire engines, police assistance and other related services.

She urged community members to get involved in Operation Hlanzeka.

The programme focuses on clearing access roads, cleaning roads, collecting waste, and cleaning all dumping spots.
