It is alleged that seven men walked into the shop at the filling station and approached one of the attendants in the shop.

They apparently pointed a firearm at the attendant, and then commanded him and his other colleagues to lie on the floor.

The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money and are still on the loose.

The manager of the garage, Miss Margaret Ntuli said that she was not there at the time, but she was alerted right after the incident happened.

“There were four attendants that were working outside and two attendants inside the shop when the ATM was bombed,” said Ntuli.

The communications officer at Witbank Police Station, Captain Eddie Hall said preliminary investigation suggests that a commercial explosive might have been utilized to bomb the ATM and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

“No suspects have been arrested and a case of ATM bombing and malicious damage to property is being investigated. We plead with the community to come forward should they have any information regarding the crime,” added Hall.
