The pledge further states that: ‘I pledge to teach those in my circle the values of human dignity, equality and respect.

I pledge to not participate in any criminal act in my community.

The royal house worked along with the Department of Health, Emalahleni Local Municipality and Phola SAPS during the process of initiating the young men.

Ndabezitha of the SoGutjhe Royal House said that the initiates signed the pledge to protect their elderly, women and children.

Ndabezitha mentioned that there are too many cases of violence against women, and it is the responsibility of the initiates to pledge to serve and combat such cases.

“We would like to thank the initiates that learnt how to be men. We also pass our gratitude to the Department of Health for ensuring that all the young men were in good health. The Emalahleni Local Municipality also provided us with services such as water for the initiates, and the police services also helped us,” concluded Mahlangu.
