N4 highway is now open after an earlier protest
The N4 Highway is open after the chaos earlier today.
Road users should drive with care as traffic is a bit slow due to the N4 highway being cleared after a protest took place earlier today.
The N4 eastbound, before the R555 off-ramp onto Walter Sisulu Drive was closed during a protest action on Wednesday, July 6. The protest was a demonstration against the spike in fuel prices.
The other affected road was Botha Avenue in Lynnville, but it has also been cleared, and the traffic is flowing.
The Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga have confirmed that major roads leading to Mbombela have also been affected by the unrest and have pleaded with the communities to refrain from the illegal road closures.
