Mpumalanga Youth Choir wants to sing, but funds are needed

The Mpumalanga Youth Choir was chosen to attend a workshop in the Drakensberg and to be part of the Choral Celebration Festival Series 2022 in Pretoria. Unfortunately, the necessary funds to attend both events are not available to all the choir members.

The members of the Mpumalanga Youth Choir are all blessed with beautiful voices, and they believe that as a choir they can bring cheer, and change circumstances with their God-given talent.

The choir was chosen as one of only a selected group to attend a workshop that will be held in the Drakensberg from July 18 to 20.

They will also be part of the Choral Celebration Festival Series 2022 which will take place in Pretoria on August 21.

Unfortunately, the necessary funds to attend both events are not available to all the choir members.

“It is expensive and not everyone can afford the money that is needed to cover the travelling, accommodation and food costs for the events, We urgently need help with funds to cover the expenses of the members,” said Ms Jeanne Lourens, choir organiser.

In the meantime, the management of the choir was able to buy a second-hand bus, which they are busy fixing up themselves for future use.

The bus is however a long way from being done – they still need parts and trimmings for the inside before it is roadworthy and ready to be used.

The kids are giving all their spare time helping to fix the bus (see video).
