Newly elected president of Portuguese Club in eMalahleni has a calendar full of activities planned

The new committee for Associacao da Colonia Portuguesa De Witbank was announced recently.

Mr Paul Manarte was elected as the president of the Associacao da Colonia Portuguesa De Witbank (Portuguese Club).

He was elected on June 7 during the club’s annual general meeting.

The former president of the club, Mr Marco Da Cunha said he is confident that Manarte and his newly elected committee will do the club proud in the next three years.

“I invite everyone in eMalahleni to come and join us in all the various projects we have planned. The club is not exclusively for the Portuguese community, it is open for all,” Paul said.

Mr Carlos De Melo surprised everyone when he took out a file with all the minutes of the past 37 years AGM’s of the Portuguese Club.

Mr Carlos De Melo hands over the annual general meeting minutes of the past 37 years to Mr Fernando Ramos.

He handed it over to Mr Fernando Ramos who is the longest-serving member of the Portuguese Club.

The new committee that serves alongside Paul are: Mark Ladeira (vice-president), Carlos Carvalho (treasurer), Zita Goldswain (secretary), Hanno Grobler, Chris van der Berg and Freddie Mangani (additional members).
