Security guard shot in the leg at a mine near Balmoral, three suspects sought by Vosman police

A man was almost killed after allegedly being attacked by three suspects.

There have been no arrests since a man was allegedly shot in the leg on Sunday, June 5, at a mine near Balmoral and Vosman Police Station is looking for suspects.

According to the information received, the complainant, a 35- year-old man, who is a security guard at the mine, was on duty.

He was sitting in a company vehicle, a white Nissan NP200.

Through the mirror, he noticed a man placing a brick on the rear wheel to obstruct the vehicle.

The suspect broke the driver’s door window with another brick, prompting the complainant to exit the vehicle and started fighting with the suspect, at which point he realised there were three of them, not one.

The guard wrestled with them as they attempted to tie him up, but he defeated them.

When he heard a gunshot, he grabbed a stone and hurled it at them.

The victim later discovered that he was shot in his right leg and both his hands were injured due to the broken glass.

The victim was taken to the hospital for medical care.
