Vosman police are searching for robbers who stole money from a bread delivery van

Delivering bread turned into a nightmare for a man when he was allegedly kidnapped by robbers.

Delivering bread had a nasty turn for two deliverymen.

As the deliverymen stopped at a local supermarket in Van Dalen Street in Vosman on Wednesday, June 8 at 10:30 they fell victim to an armed robbery.

One of the men was about to go inside the supermarket when two armed men pointed a firearm at him and demanded money.

The man told police that the driver of the delivery van ran away leaving his colleague with the suspects.

It is believed that the suspects forced the deliveryman into the truck and apparently drove to a squatter camp at Santa Village where they were joined by two other suspects.

It is alleged that the suspects opened the back door of the truck and broke the safe open with a crowbar and a hammer.

According to police, the suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and left the scene, leaving the complainant and the truck.

No one has been arrested so far, and police request anyone who may assist them with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the Community Service Centre on 079 891 4822.
