Klipfontein bar falls prey to robbers

Criminals lurking for their next targets.

Business robberies are on the rise in eMalahleni, with this weekend’s statistics showing that more were robbed, with a bar in Klipfontein becoming a target.

 

According to the information received at approximately 14:30 on Saturday, May 21, the complaint on duty was busy inside the bar when two unknown men entered the bar.

 

The robbery allegedly occurred after the complainant assisted the two men; when one of them said he wanted the money from the till and the victim told him that there was no money. The suspect threaten the complainant by saying he would kill him.

 

After the victim gave him the cash, the suspects left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

 

The manager couldn’t give a comment on the matter, but did confirm that the robbery happened. 

 

Police spokesperson, Captain Eddie Hall urges business owners to be vigilant and aware of suspicious vehicles or persons outside the business during opening and closing times, and for employees to be aware of their surroundings.

 

Inform the police on 10111 or the Witbank Police control room on 079 891 5570 immediately if you see a suspicious vehicle or person.
