AME faced with a dirty water affair

Water meter on the OR Tambo road has not been attendee to for three weeks.

In the city of eMalahleni, residents have a problem with water outages and then have ‘too much’ water the next day.

This is the case with the water meter outside Africa Maintenance Equipment (AME) on OR Tambo Road.

The water meter has had gushing water from the water meter outside their offices. It is not yet confirmed what sparked this liquid fire, yet it has frustrated surrounding businesses, customers, motorists and pedestrians.

The manager at AME, Mr Jabu Radebe said that they had reported the matter to the local municipality three weeks ago.

“The workers from the municipality have been coming to check; yet don’t do anything to fix the problem. We have now tried to outsource people who can help us with the matter, but unfortunately they need the municipality to stop the water for some time to be able to fix the fault,” said Mr Jabu Radebe.

The spokesperson of Emalahleni Local Municipality, Mr Lebo Mofokeng, did not respond to WITBANK NEWS before going to print.
