Ms Nkosi has lived in X16 for over 20 years, and the issue of water had always been a problem, particularly when there are heavy rainfalls experienced, which is estimated to happen every after three years.

This year has seen a lot of rain, leaving her saddened and crying out for help as the water came to saturate her home, which has had an impact on her and her family as it badly affects the infrastructure.

According to Gogo, she reported the incident three times to the municipality, but never received assistance with the problem.

Even Snyman Street is affected as water is running down the street on both sides. According to Ward 33 Cllr Kim Faduk she has reported the matter several times and the latest was on May 9.

“I just want the team to investigate and give feedback, so we will know what is the way forward to see if the resident can be assisted or not,” Cllr Faduk said.

The spokesperson of Emalahleni Local Municipality, Mr Lebo Mofokeng, did not respond to WITBANK NEWS before going to print.
