Armed robbery at AfriSam and diesel was what the criminals were after

Armed robbers attack local diesel business.

AfriSam’s Zeekoewater Quarry fell prey to a robbery last week.

During the robbery on May 10 suspects tied up the security guards and helped themselves to some diesel.

The incident has been reported to the local authorities and AfriSam is providing its full cooperation in the investigation.

As this is an active investigation, AfriSam is unable to provide any additional information at this stage.

“Safety is a high priority for us at AfriSam and we take the safety of our personnel, contractors, and the public extremely seriously. We are extremely saddened by this incident, but remain grateful that none of our security contractors were seriously injured during the armed robbery. We are providing trauma counselling to the guards who were on duty that evening and have put additional security measures in place at our quarry,” said Mr Avi Bhoora, Construction Materials Executive from AfriSam.
