Khutso is designing his own bright and fabulous future

Khutso dreams big.

Khutso Ntuli likes to dress and he likes to make others look and feel beautiful.

This young designer from eMalahleni that is taking the fashion industry by storm with his vibrant and bright colourful designs pours out his bubbly personality in each design.

When Khutso enters a room all eyes turn, because this 28-year-old is not afraid to experiment with fabric, colour, and texture.

Khutso was raised by his mom and grandmother and he said it is an honour to live his grandmother’s legacy.

Khutso said his grandmother, who was a seamstress, played a vital role in his career.

“I never thought I would end up in the fashion industry as I thought sitting in front of the sewing machine is so labour intensive. But her skill and love for dressmaking paved my way into the fashion industry.”

Today Khutso dresses well-known people and supplies fashion garments to a few African countries.

He worked with various artists such as the Naked Dj and Oskido, Naakqmusic. He has also worked with the Legacy Hotel Group, dressed the South African School of Belle and that has affiliations with African Fashion Institute, which does the Fashion Week South Africa.

“Fashion is a language speaking to everyone. It is not a written script; in the fashion world, everyone writes his own script. I am lucky I am very outspoken and flamboyant so my script does not need a lot of attention, my image speaks for itself,” Khutso said.

He was born and bred in eMalahleni.

He attended school at Witbank Primary School and Hoërskool Patriot.

“Ek praat ook suiwer Afrikaans,” he said and pointed out that from 2007 to 2011 he featured in WITBANK NEWS regularly for art festivals and accolades.

“Fashion found me. I think beyond the trend. It is so important that we start thinking green.”

Khutso’s designs are a true reflection of his personality.

When WITBANK NEWS asked him where to from here, he said, “I want to become a millionaire.”

There is no doubt in Khutso’s mind that he will one day own his own huge house in the rich suburbs of Johannesburg or Cape Town and be the owner of a few clothing factories.

“I want to be famous too,” he added.

With the world of fashion as his stage, this designer from eMalahleni is set for big things in the fashion industry.
