Mia and Xandré holds Cambridge name high

Cambridge Academy learners proved their talents at the South African Schools Athletics National Championships.

Mia Ligthelm and Xandré van der Bank from Cambridge Academy chased their dreams on the athletics field and track at the South African Schools Athletics (Sasa) National Championships.

These two incredible athletes represented Mpumalanga at the Sasa National Championships in Germiston from Tuesday, March 15 to Friday, March 18.

Mia was selected for the 400m and 800m.

She placed ninth in the u.15 400m and ninth in the u.15 800m events.

Xandré was selected for his shot put.

He placed 12th in the u.15 shot put event.

Cambridge Academy is bursting with pride and would like to congratulate these two amazing athletes, “well done Mia and Xandré, your Cambridge family is incredibly proud of you and the school truly believes that you both have a bright future in athletics ahead of you. Continue chasing your dreams!”
