Cash and a firearm with rounds taken from a fast-food store

The police are picking up a clear pattern regarding the business robberies in town

Helping a customer at a fast-food store as a cashier is a fast-paced job, but when an armed robber walks in, you just have to keep your cool.

On Friday, April 1 a cashier alleged that she was busy taking orders from a customer when an unknown man walked in.

The unknown man appeared as a customer at first, until he pulled out a firearm at the cashier and demanded that she hands over the money.

The cashier allegedly handed over the money that was in the till at that stage. Once he had the money, he went to the customer who was in the shop at that stage.

The customer was a security guard; the suspect took the client’s firearm which had 14 rounds in it.

Once the suspect had the firearm and cash, he left the shop.

“Most of the business robberies in eMalahleni are showing a clear pattern that criminals rob intending to obtain cash,” said the station commander of Witbank Police Station Brigadier Moses Bolten.
