The crime rate of eMalahleni increases by the day and many victims are starting to loose hope as they are attacked far too often.

Mr Solomon Nagos, owner of a shop in Elpaso and his wife were left distraught after he was robbed for the fourth time since they have opened the shop.

The latest incident happened on Tuesday, March 22 when Nagos and his wife were about to close the shop when four men approached him.

Two of the suspects were holding firearms and they came towards him demanding money.

The men searched his pockets and found his car keys, then went to his car where they found the money that the couple had made on the day.

Nagos recalls that he tried to attempt running, but one of the men shot at him; the bullet luckily missed him.

“My wife was screaming as she was scared for her life. I believe that these are the same people that have been robbing us every time,” said Nagos.

A case of armed robbery was opened at Witbank Police Station and one of the suspects was arrested, along with one firearm.
