Four suspects, including a minor in court for murder
The body had some visible bruises which suggested that the victim seems to have been severely assaulted
Four suspects aged between 17 and 52 will appear again before Witbank Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of murder.
The four’s last appearance was on Friday, February 25 regarding a murder that occurred on Wednesday, February 16 at Extension 14 in KwaGuqa where the body of Mr July Mahemu (34) was discovered inside his Toyota Hilux Legend 40 bakkie just outside his yard.
The foursome appeared again on Tuesday, March 8.
They will appear again for a formal bail application.
During their last appearance, there were demonstrations by some community members outside the court.
A family member after finding the body notified the police who conducted an investigation.
The body had some visible bruises which suggested that the victim seems to have been severely assaulted.
A murder case was then opened accordingly, and investigators launched a manhunt for his killers leading to the four being arrested.
The four suspects are somehow related to each other, but the motive for the killing is still unknown at this stage.
