New stoves will keep culinary dreams alive

Five projectors were also donated.

With hands working together, futures are built.

After seeing a need for stoves and projectors at Reyno Park, Tomco and Eskom Duvha Power Station donated to keep the learners’ dreams alive.

The donations were handed over to the school on Wednesday, February 16.

Miss Bridget Mabona, the school’s hospitality teacher said that she and her learners are beyond grateful for the donation of four electrical stoves.

“The subject is sometimes undermined and looked down upon, yet learners don’t understand that they can have a successful career in the culinary industry. There is a previous learner that currently owns a bakery and another learner who is a food stylist. The subject does not only teach you about cooking, but also etiquette,” said Mabona.

This donation was the beginning of a great relationship between the stakeholders.

Mr Koena Moabelo, a representative from Eskom Duvha Power Station said that he was humbled to be a part of the handover of the donation.

“We are confident that the community is our number one priority. Businesses that operate in and around the community should understand that members of the community are the ones that bring profit. They should understand that their future employees might be from the schools and we all have the responsibility to take care of the schools. We also thank the teachers for their hard work. Without teachers, the future is doomed,” added Moabelo.

Mr Donny Kleinhans from Tomco said that he visited the school last year in November and noticed how passionate the principal is about his school.

The organization then saw the need for them to be on board and build a great relationship with the school.

Five projectors were also donated.
