Uniform donation will boost children’s confidence

The FCS unit dedicated their time to go and donate uniforms to students who are less fortunate.

As a way to celebrate his last few days in office, Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Mahlangu from the SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit gathered his office to do a good deed for others.

The FCS unit dedicated their time to go and donate uniforms to students who are less fortunate.

The unit reached out to Glencore and Tsimulo where they were glad to donate to children school uniforms including shirts, trousers and school shoes.

The donations were handed over to some students at Duvha Primary School on Thursday, February 10.

Children who were allocated to receive the contributions made by the organisations were selected by the teachers of the school.

Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Mahlangu said that his office approached the organisation and they wanted to be on board with the initiative.

Mahlangu has been dealing with children who are victims of crime and has grown a strong passion for taking care of children.

The Lieutenant Colonel felt that it was important for him to be a part of this donation before he leaves office to assume another role in the SAPS.

Mahlangu has been dealing with children for over 26 years and wants to continue for years to come.

Miss Nothando Khumalo who is an educator at Duvha Primary School said she appreciates the sponsors from both organisations.

“Our school is blessed to be seen worthy to receive such a generous donation. These donations will definitely boost the learner’s confidence and thereafter boost their effort in their school work. As we normally say to the learners; when you look good, you feel good and you do good,” Khumalo added.
