Emalahleni Men of Destiny seeks volunteers for new program

The crossroads class has already started at Marikane New Extension, Christ Church building every Saturday afternoon.

Emalahleni Men of Destiny launched a campaign last year that was aimed at reaching out to young boys and girls. The program was called Men to Boys and Women to Girls Talk and the launch was a success as many were involved.

The program still continues to help young people with the challenges that they face in society.

The organisation has since grown and will be launching another program which will be led by Pastor Ignatius Mahlangu. The new program will fall under the project called ‘Your child is my child’.

The project aims to teach life skills and character building and life skills techniques through the crossroads school curriculum.

The curriculum consists of five units and 30 lessons including relationships, character, connection, life skills, and navigating the future. The curriculum is designed to protect young people from dangers that they are facing such as drugs, alcohol, crime, and teenage pregnancy.

“Why are so many children violent and become addicted to drugs, alcohol, sexual activities, bullying, and disrespect of children towards educators? The problem lies with the lack of parenting. Children abuse and family violence also have a big impact on the behavior of a child,” Pastor Mahlangu added.

The crossroads class has already started at Marikane New Extension, Christ Church building every Saturday afternoon.

“We are recruiting volunteers in order to implement these programs to all wards and schools,” said Pastor Mahlangu.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the programs may contact Pastor Mahlangu on 076 391 32471 or 082 863 2039.
