Sogutjhe Traditional House makes a stomach-filling donation

Chiefs Sipho Mahlangu of Ndzundza Sogutjhe in Phola brings festivities to the vulnerable.       

Chief Sipho Mahlangu donated more than 100 food parcels at Somhlolo Sports Ground in Phola to the community through the Sogutjhe Foundation.

On Saturday, December 18, Chief Mahlangu of Ndzundza Sogutjhe Traditional House in conjunction with Phola Football Association and the Liselihle Organisation donated more than 100 food parcels to the Phola community which were mostly elderly people, orphaned children and those in need.

Chief Mahlangu started this initiative three years ago in partnership with the Phola Football Association and Liselihle Organisation.

The main purpose was to feed the elderly in the community, orphaned children and those that are in need.

Mrs Thulisile Mahlangu, the office administrator for Ndzundza Sogutjhe in the office of Chief Mahlangu, indicated that since it was the festive season, the chief was touched by the way Covid-19 affected the society and decided to reach out to the community with his partners from Capitec Bank in Ogies.

Mrs Mahlangu commended and acknowledged the partnership that Chief Mahlangu has with the local police under the capable leadership of the station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Nape Matlala and further acknowledged the order that the police brought during the distribution of the food parcels.

The event was successful and peaceful and all the recipients were very happy and gave thanks to the chief and his team.
