Priestly ordination of Dixie James Ngamone

Father Ngamone was born in February 1993 in eMalahleni and is the youngest of the two children

There was joy and happiness with singing, dancing and celebration during the ordination of Dixie James Ngamone as a priest at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Ackerville.

They came in their numbers to witness the ordination of the young priest on Thursday, December 16.

Bishop Xolelo Thaddeus Kumalo presiding over the ordination said the waiting was over as the day had finally come and the people should be thankful and pray and support Father Ngamone as he embarked on his journey.

Father Ngamone was born in February 1993 in eMalahleni and is the youngest of the two children.

He started school at St Thomas Aquinas Convent School until Grade 4; thereafter he went to Robert Carruthers Primary School where he completed his intermediary phase of schooling. He then went to Witbank High School where he matriculated in 2011.

In 2012 the Diocese sent him to a one-year bridging course at St Phillips Neri Collegium in Qheberha.

He then went to St Francis Xavier Orientation seminary in 2013. In 2014 he proceeded to St John Maria Vianney Seminary to start with his priestly training in philosophy and theology.

He completed his philosophical studies in 2016 obtaining a BA in Philosophy.

In 2019 as part of his formation programme was sent to Marys of Uganda Parish, Schoornoord for a pastoral internship under the supervision of Father Montanan Maluku.

He completed his initial formation in May 2021 and obtained a Bachelor in Theology.

He was ordained as a deacon on June 16 this year at Maria Trots Pastoral Centre at Mashishing by Rt Reverend Kumalo, Bishop of Witbank.

He was assigned for pastoral experience to Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish in Glen Cowie.
