A special Slipstream crit fundraiser was held for a woman who was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.

The crit was held on Sunday, December 12 in the park in Steenkamp Street.

Xandra de Wet was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and the money raised from all the cyclists went to her and her family for treatment expenses.

A total of 75 cyclists joined the crit and it was a day enjoyed by everyone.

The crit was arranged by Dan Cronje who is also a keen cyclist in eMalahleni.

“I would just like to extend my gratitude to these companies that helped with additional sponsorships for the day and the donations towards the crit and Xandra. They are GG Cycles, Power Build, Ref Air and Minolta. Then a special thank you to the sector policing members who stood on various intersections to ensure the safety of the cyclists,” said Dan.
